At this point, I had to restart CE for it to work properly again as I kept receiving that error. To note, I’ve received a generic «Access Violation» at seemingly random times while using 6.8. This one actually led to something reproducible.

Try this version: https://cheatengine.org/download/ce-6805578.zip (just overwrite your current build with this one)
Also in regards to other access violations: hold ctrl and click on help. Then check «Generate errorlogs». It will generate a cedebug.log file in your ce folder that shows all exceptions and their backtrace.

Okay, I overwrote my current build with that one. Good to know with the other access violations. I’ll be using CE quite a bit over the weekend, so I’ll update this issue with any logs I’m able to generate.
As for the vmovss, could that be due to the fact that I was playing a Java-based game?
Where that’s concerned, I have noted especially with Mono-based games that, if I JIT a method, so long as I don’t scroll up in the disassembler, the instructions are fine; however, if I scroll up just a tiny bit from the prologue, the disassembler starts interpreting bytes from above, and it throws that JIT-ed routine in permanent disarray, no matter how far up or back down I scroll.
The «fix» for me has always been to just close the disassembler and re-JIT the method, thus re-opening the disassembler with that method’s prologue at the very top.
I’m not sure if that’s «fixable,» or just a bi-product of landing into a JIT-ed method like that, amid whatever other bytes are surrounding it.

the vmovss issue should be fixed in this as for the upscrolling issue that happens sometimes. what you can do in that case is use the left/right arrow keys on the keyboard to move the start address by 1 byte so you can point it at a correct start

Small bug I just noticed with the Count column as pictured above.
Behavior: When right-clicking on an address in the address list and selecting to either find what accesses or find what writes, the window that loads auto-hides the Count column. It’s there, but you have to drag it into view. If closing the window and trying again, the Count column is auto-hidden again.
The behavior didn’t happen the very first time I chose to find what writes/accesses since using the build you gave me, but rather on the second and it’s now persisting across CE and game restarts.

Alright, I hit one after going through the initial dialogue boxes for creating an AOB script. You can see the bytes/instruction clearly in the «what writes to» window, which is also the highlighted line in the disassembler. CE froze and I got this much of a log:

I went back in the game to try to duplicate the error. Since it’s a Java game, the instruction was similar, but not quite the same. I was able to create a script based on the new instruction a few times, but then CE froze without any sort of warning. This log was created:

The game I’m testing with is Minecraft (Java Edition), in single-player mode. The instructions have been related to health, and camera/player coordinate values.
1-White listed in anti-virus(İ disabled anti virus too) 2-İ gived all permisions to cheat engine directory 3-İ tryed add dep (data execution prevention) but i cant add 64 bit programs to dep 32 bit cheat engine working fine
i using windows 10 64 bit with windows defender Sorry for bad english
edit: i closed dep and restarted my pc still gives this access violation error i reinstalled ce but still gives me this error i tryed lower ce versions but still has this problem

I’ve just tested that I can successfully scan the memory with cheatengine-i386.exe but it was slow indeed.
I’ve been using CE for several years and I’ve tried to scan the memory of other processes, and it turned out fine.
My computer: Intel Core i9 7900K and Nvidia Titan XP and 16G*2 memery.

Thank you for your attention, and there’s 4 kinds of number behind that:
When I play Monster Hunter World and this issue occurs again with CE 6.8.3. There is a high chance it displays Scan error: thread 3:Access violation(102).
CE disk location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cheat Engine 6.8.3

OH, Drak, I found it. If the mem_mapped option is unchecked, it will be OK. If the mem_mapped option is checked, it turn out to be «Scan error:thread 2:Access violation(102) «. Besides, if the mem_mapped option is checked and CE kernel rountines options are checked, it will be OK but scan slowly and to be unstable(easily crash. ) Hope these may help you. : )

No, 4 bytes. And I test again and any valuetype (such as 4 bytes, float) can reproduce the bug. If the Scan type mem_mapped option is checked, then it will be an issue. «Scan error:thread 2:Access violation(102) «. Then I uncheck the Scan type mem_mapped option, it will be OK. Strange! Tested with game «Monster Hunter World» and «Dragon Quest» and other 3 games. Maybe because the language of my PC system is not English？ My computer: Intel Core i9 7900K and Nvidia Titan XP and 16G*2 memery.
