1. Page can not be found.
The license server is not active. [Windows:] Go to Start > Chaosgroup > Launch V-Ray License Server or [Mac:] Programs > Chaosgroup > Launch V-Ray License server.
Then re-access localhost:30304 and check that it is working now. You might have to log in. If still no page is found, re-download de V-Ray license server and reinstall.
2. Page shows ‘Enable online licensing’
Click the text ‘Enable online licensing’ and enter your credentials.
3. Page shows products but when you click one of them, no licenses are listed.
Probably you owned temporary licenses that have now expired. Contact your reseller to buy a new license.
4. Online Licensing menu is green but the page shows «no licenses available».
Either your temporary licenses have expired or you are logged in with the wrong account. Click the ‘online licensing’ menu and choose ‘disable’. Now click it again and use the correct credentials to log in. If you have forgotten your credentials, contact your reseller.
5. Licenses are found but they do not match the V-Ray version you have installed.
6. All licenses are in use.
If multiple person in one company use V-Ray licenses, it can occur that there are more people than licenses. If you run into this issue often, consider buying extra licenses from your reseller.

Licensing
This page gives details on the license setup for Chaos Group products.
Overview
Chaos License Server version 5.0 provides licensing of the Chaos products without the need for any physical devices to be plugged in your machine. It allows you to easily activate more licenses right after the purchase and provides a way to stay offline while using your products when you need to. It is still compatible with existing USB dongles, in case you need to use your licenses in this way.
Interface
The License Server’s interface is accessible in a web browser. See the License Server Interface page for more information.
Installation
By default, the V-Ray for SketchUp installer offers License Server installation. See the Installation page for more information.
If you need to install the License Server separately, please see the Installing the License Server page for details on the process. This includes using your Chaos Group account to access your purchased licenses from anywhere online.
Activation
To activate your licenses, go to 127.0.0.1:30304 using your web browser and click SIGN IN from the ONLINE LICENSING menu. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password. Once the activation is successful, you will be able to see the list of your available licenses on the License Server home page.
You can activate your License Server even without Internet connection. To do this, download an activation request file from your License Server. Use another machine with Internet connection to log in with your Chaos Group account to my.chaosgroup.com and upload the activation request file. This will generate an activation file. Upload the activation file to your License Server to activate it. To move the files from the computer without Internet connection to the one with, you can use a USB device.

1) On the machine without Internet connection, open the License Server web interface page.
2) From the expandable menu of ONLINE LICENSING, go to OFFLINE ACTIVATION.
3) Press ACTIVATE OFFLINE button.
4) Download your activation request file (cert.crs).
5) Use another machine with Internet connection to log in to my.chaosgroup.com with your Chaos Group account and press Activate License Server.
6) Name your license server and press NEXT.
7) Upload the activation request file you downloaded in step 4 and press ACTIVATE.
8) Download your Activation file (cert.crt).
9) On the machine without Internet connection, in your License Server web interface page, upload your Activation file (cert.crt) and press UPLOAD.
10) Your site is now successfully activated.
USB Dongle usage
The Licensing system allows you to use seats associated with your Chaos Group account from any computer. If you have a USB dongle with Chaos Group product licenses attached to your computer, you can utilize them with the License Server. For more details on this process, please see the Dongle usage page.
Settings
n most situations, adjusting the Settings for the online licensing system is not necessary. But if you need to adjust something, such as your connection settings because you’re using a Proxy server, you can find them in the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the License Server webpage. For more details on what settings are adjustable from this area, please see the Advanced Settings page.

Having Problems with RTX & CUDA (SketchUp)
I can still render the same scene on the CPU, but it’s time consuming and only seems to handle resolution up to 3-4k.
I am using VRay for SketchUp 4.20.01
The graphics card is an EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
I don’t know what the problem is.
I’m not very tech savy so please talk in layman’s terms as much as possible.
I really need help with this, trying to find paying work urgently and my hardware / software is letting me down!
There are a couple of reasons why this might be happening:
1. Your GPU drivers might have to be updated.
I believe that the ‘Finish’ before it starts was sometimes caused by that.
So the first thing I’d do is try updating the drivers to the latest version.
3. This might also be a memory issue (GPU or CPU RAM).
The CPU problems that you’ve faced sound suspicious.
Keep in mind that even though V-Ray GPU (CUDA and RTX) use your graphics card there are still some calculations done on the CPU.
I’d try removing the C++/CPU from the list of GPU devices first.
Another calculation done on the CPU that might be causing trouble is the Light Cache global illumination.
To test this theory, you can go to Settings/Advanced Panel/Global Illumination and select Brute Force from the Secondary Rays menu.
There is some additional information that might help us figure out what’s going on:
— What kind of displacement do you use? Is it Normal or 2D?
Keep in mind that in SketchUp it’s relatively easy to go overboard with the amount of displaced surfaces in the scene.
The reason is, the displacement is applied to materials (not objects) and it is sometimes hard to keep track of all the displaced surfaces in the scene.
Does disabling displacement help?
To globally disable the effect use the following option: Settings/ Render Parameters/ Switches/ Displacement.
— There is a log that V-Ray creates which might contain some useful information about the crash.
