Present Simple / Present Continuous — упражнения для новичков и продвинутых
Английская грамматика с точки зрения русского человека хитра и коварна. Вот, казалось бы, настоящее время глаголов – простая тема, но кто бы мог предположить, что в английском языке насчитывается четыре варианта настоящего времени! И чтобы их понять, надо каждое разобрать отдельно, а потом сравнить друг с другом. Этим и займемся сегодня, выполняя на Present Simple и Present Continuous упражнения разного уровня. Почему только 2 аспекта берем, а не сразу 4? Чтобы не было лишней путаницы и спешки. Изучение языка – дело серьезное и суеты не любит. Поэтому сегодняшний материал посвящен исключительно заданиям на эти два аспекта. Но чтобы их выполнить для начала немного вспомним теорию.
В чем отличие Present Simple от Present Continuous
Итак, у нас есть два способа обозначить настоящее время действий в английском языке – Simple и Continuous. Как их различать, и когда какой способ использовать? Давайте разбираться.
Правило гласит, что привычные действия, совершаемые регулярно, часто или периодически, в английском языке передаются с помощью аспекта Present Simple. Выглядит это следующим образом.
Как видно, такие действия повторяются с определенной периодичностью, поэтому они и вошли нам в привычку.
Другое дело, когда на английском надо рассказать о том, что происходит прямо сейчас, в этот момент времени. Для таких предложений уже используется аспект Present Continuous. Сравните примеры.
Иными словами, мы говорим не о повседневных вещах, а о том, чем заняты конкретно сейчас. Представьте, как будто вы позвонили другу, и спрашиваете, что он делает. Вот он и отвечает «я играю» или «я иду в кино». Именно в этом нюансе кроется разница между Present Simple и Present Continuous, и упражнения помогут нам отработать навык использования данных аспектов в соответствующих ситуациях. Но сперва еще немного вспомним грамматику.
Для того, чтобы построить высказывание времени Презент Симпл, нам достаточно просто взять инфинитив глагола без частицы to.
Но нельзя забывать, что подлежащее в третьем лице (он/она/оно) всегда требует для глагола в Present Simple окончание –s.
А вот формула для Презент Континиус включает в себя две составляющих: глагол to be, изменяемый по лицам, и смысловой глагол с неизменным окончанием –ing. Получаются такие примеры.
Примечательно, чтоб Present Continuous образует вопросы и отрицания сам: в первом случае to be перемещается в начало предложения, а во втором порядок слов стандартный, только to be присоединяет частицу not.
Немного сложнее ситуация в случае вопроса или отрицания для Present Simple. Эти функции осуществляет вспомогательный глагол do, и надо запомнить, что с подлежащим в 3 лице он всегда превращается в does, из-за чего основной глагол теряет свое окончание –s. Внимательно ознакомьтесь с предложениями в таблице.
I don’t write novels. — Я не пишу романы.
He doesn’t write novels. — Он не пишет романы.
Теперь, когда мы вспомнили все нюансы, можно смело выполнять на выбор «Present Simple или Present Continuous» упражнения. Ведь теория хороша для общего понимания, но вот выработать навык поможет лишь усердная практика. Ей и займемся.

Итак, подведем итоги. Вы изучили на базовом уровне два часто употребляемых времени в английском языке (Present Simple и Present Continuous) и выполнили достаточное количество упражнений для их закрепления. На этом изучение грамматики английского языка не заканчивается. Далее осталось изучить еще два времени — Past Simple (прошедшее простое) и Future Simple (будущее простое) и с временами пока закончим.
